A PORTAL TO PRESERVE THE HOYSALA KARNATAKA BRAHMIN CULTURE AND TRADITIONS
The Hoysala Karnataka Brahmins are Smartha Brahmins who live in Karnataka state of Southern India and speak Kannada. This is a tiny community whose roots can be traced back to the days of the Vijayanagar Empire. They are the followers of Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Every HK family worships a family god and some of the family gods are Lord Venkateshwara and Lord Narasimhaswamy. Family god is known as Mane Devaru.They have a very rich culture and tradition that has to be preserved for the future generations of the HK Community. Finding about the history of the H K Brahmins would be a very interesting topic of research for a history student.
